About us
We are based
in the UK and have provided a mail order service since 1990. We have been
online since 1999 and now have many thousands of satisfied customers worldwide.
We specialise in out of print and rare CD singles, rare CDs and vinyl records
including limited editions, DJ promos, and worldwide imports (including
items from Europe, USA, Japan, Taiwan, and Australia). All items listed
are in Mint or Excellent condition (unless specified) and are currently
in stock. New items are added throughout the website daily. |
Why are
we different?
We pride ourselves
in supplying hard to find items that are no longer generally available
from domestic sources (i.e. high street shops). We are able to continue
supplying these items due to our numerous contacts around the world.
As much of our stock is rare or out of print, the items listed are often
one-offs or we have very low stocks available. Usually we will not
be able to re-stock these items once sold. |

100% customer
satisfaction guarantee
All items
come with a ‘no quibble’ 30-day money back guarantee. So you can buy with
complete confidence. We aim to provide the best online shopping experience
possible. By making sure you're 100% satisfied with our service,
we hope you'll make Hyper-Music a regular place to shop. All items
listed on our website have been personally checked by us. We have
set a standard that all items should be in at least excellent condition.
In fact, the majority of our stock (99%) is in mint or excellent condition.
Obviously due to the rarity of some items it is not always possible, therefore
where an item is not in at least excellent condition, it is described as
fully as possible to enable you to decide before you buy (see below for
collector's guide). If you are not happy with the items you are sent,
we will refund your money in full. However, over the years, due to
us personally checking each item, this has never happened yet and we are
doing everything so that hopefully it never will! |
Collector's
Guide
CD &
Vinyl grading
As far as
possible, we strive to obtain items in as close to perfect condition as
possible, but due to the rarity (or age) of many of the items we stock,
this is not always possible. Therefore this guide explains what you can
expect from us. |
All items in stock are
in Mint or Excellent condition unless stated
99% of our
stock consists of top quality items in Mint or Excellent condition. Items
in less than excellent condition are clearly noted next to the description
(or on a 'more info' link) and the price reduced accordingly. Where there
is no grading listed, the item is in at least excellent condition, with
most items being in mint condition. |
Grading
Guide
Here is
our uncomplicated and honest grading guide: |
| Sleeves
and inlays (Records and CDs)
Mint (M):
‘New’ or ‘As new’ condition.
Excellent
(EX): May have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very good
(VG): Normal wear and tear without any major defects (this may include
light ring wear, light wear to edges, or minor/small seam splits, or similar).
Good (G):
Not in 'collectable' condition. Therefore, may have defects such as folding,
heavy ring wear or similar
Fair (F)
or Poor (P): Torn or defaced - We do NOT stock items in this condition. |
| Disc grading
(Vinyl)
Mint (M):
‘New’ or ‘As new’ condition.
Excellent
(EX): Shows signs of having been played and may have very little lessening
in sound quality.
Very good
(VG): Disc has multiple clearly visible surface marks, so sound quality
may be slightly impaired.
Good (G):
Disc has been played a lot or not treated so well – likely to have many
clicks, pops and crackles, but not enough to detract from the music.
Fair (F)
or Poor (P): The sound of bacon frying! - We do NOT stock items in
this condition. |
| Disc grading
(CD)
All CDs
are guaranteed to have perfect sound quality regardless
CD grading
is a controversial issue. Some CDs can look faulty, but play fine. Whereas
others look fine and do not play. It is generally considered throughout
the collecting industry that a CD with perfect playback is in Mint condition,
however as collectors ourselves we do not agree with this. For an item
to be described as Mint condition it should not only sound perfect, but
should also look perfect. Therefore we have developed the following CD
grading guide:
Mint (M):
‘New’ or ‘As new’ condition.
Excellent
(EX): Shows signs of having been played (light surface marks), but
plays fine and has perfect sound quality.
Very good
(VG): Disc has obvious surface marks, but plays fine and has perfect
sound quality.
Good (G):
Disc is heavily scratched, but despite this plays fine and has perfect
sound quality.
Fair (F)
or Poor (P): Disc that only plays some of the tracks - We do NOT stock
items in this condition. |
All items come
with a ‘no quibble’ 30-day money back guarantee. So you can buy with complete
confidence.
